DrJohn
aka MacRebbenack (check spelling), NewOrleans sideman and bandleader, originally a guitarist now primarily a piano player. He is a white (what is known as a "yat" from the expression "Where y'at?") native of NewOrleans (or Louisiana, at least).
Circa 1994 (check date), BriggsNisbet and I saw DrJohn and AllenToussaint reminisce about JamesBooker in the heritage pavilion of JazzFest (I still have the sign), while sitting behind two side-by-side grand pianos so they could demonstrate some of Booker's signature tunes and approximate his style when necessary to illustrate a point.
